The Moon's Shadow

Prolouge

The screams and pain of the fallen angels could be heard through the town. The humans had shown no mercy. They went like savage beasts wanting to kill us all. My daughter clenched my leg, I had been surrounded. Three figures wearing identical uniforms had come out of the blue. By the look in their eyes I knew they wanted to commit bloody murder. I looked more closely and could see that they were actually my kind and when I had looked even closer I could see the eyes of the possessed men. This explained it all, the traitor who had left must have used his powers to turn the war into a civil war. I didn't want to kill but i had to survive another day to protect those close to me. In a swift movement I had beheaded two already. The last survivor of the three stared at me with eyes wide, but then suddenly his aura....it had shot like many earthquakes. The next couple seconds I no longer have memory of. Whenever I think of that day I remember seeing those three uniformed men and a girl with a horrified look with tears dropping from her face. I have a feeling that the girl is very important and has a purpose I should know....but now I lay dead and restless wondering what I can no longer remember.

Chapter 1
"Wake up little girl," a familiar voice said to me as my eyes fluttered open. I woke up to find my older cousin Mephsito looking down at me. "Isn't it too early for this," I mumbled between my breath. He quietly patted my head and said, "ha-ha, that's my little Isty." I roll my eyes as he leaves the room. I quickly got dressed and then went to head base to sign in at Commander Ophelia's desk. I walk down the stairs to the main lobby passed the left hallway and then Squad 2's headquarters. I headed to her office and sighed. Commander Ophelia didn't really like me that much, it was probably because our personalities clashed but whatever. I wondered why her hair was silverish color; she was only about ten years older than me I thought as I stepped into the room.
"Lutainant Mysterious of Squad 12 reporting in for duty Ma'am."
"Ah very good, very good I have an assignment for you, don't louse this up child."
"I won't."
"Right, she said with her always present sarcasm. The job will be in a human dimension called Fizzel. The yoma sightings have been rising and the humans are becoming suspicious. I need you to kill the yoma there without the nearby villagers of Deisha getting alarmed, understood?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Now go!"
I left the room and sighed to myself. I couldn't help but wonder why this is my faith. I could feel my horrible but foggy memories haunting me. I longed for a companion that I could talk to without sarcasm. I quietly went outside to start the passage into the next world.
"Moon and Sun alike…
Who brought life to thee…
I no longer fear the darkness that once surrounded me
So hear my cries and let me be!"
I had come to the town of Deisha.
